In fact, DNA can pinpoint the exact locations the Amerinds came from - and it is about as far from "the land of Israel" as you can get LOL.
They came from the area around Lake Baikal in Mongolia, and the Polynesians came from Taiwan.

152. The FLDS is not, nor has it ever been, a part of the Mormon Faith. The members were the most conservative of pioneer LDS settlers who resented the nod to American values and conformed to this countries standards when Utah became a state. An analogy for those who still refuse to get it; Pentacostal Christian standards have nothing to do with Catholic traditions , but both are Christian groups. There ya go.

Since his arrest. Warren Jeffs has been seen muttering to himself, praying by the day, starving himself and literally cracking-up, now that he's in the real world. His followers are not allowed to read anything that he doesn't publish. He's a master manipulator who's part of a 120yo project to gain absolute control of everyone involved; male and female. I hope he gets what he deserves. If you'd seen as many FLDS women as we do in this town, black and blue with their eyes on the ground...that's how I know they're telling the truth. He's a monster, they're 100 years brainwashed.

Traditional LDS faithful believe in the KJV of the Bible. We use the Book of Mormon as another record of the life of Jesus Christ. Nothing in the BOM competes with the Bible's teachings. We aren't brainwashed, just the opposite. Revelations of Joseph Smith aside, no one religion practices Christ's church per his instructions closer than the LDS. As someone else stated, pick up a BOM or talk to a missionary kid before you hate your neighbors!

For what it's worth, we have Jewish people attending our church, I was Baptist before converting. There's a simplicity to the religion that's honest and truthful...but that could be said about many religions in the world and LDS members are mandated to accept other faiths with respect.

By the way, my best friend is Gay and she was the maid of honor at my wedding. I've stood up in front of my (huge) LDS ward and stated as much. If our doors are truly open to newcomers then we have to accept them with open hearts. I really, really, dare anyone who reads Joseph Smith's account of his life (in every BOM) and reads Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley's writings, to find arrogance or manipulation in this religion. If I do something, it's with free agency.

So much bias that's unnecessary here. Straight or gay, or whatever, just find a way to be healthy and live honestly.

153. Millions of converts?

Actually, Mormon growth is at a standstill and the activity rate for Mormons is about 30%.
That means approx 70% Mormons are inactive at any given time.

Moreover, the number of missionaries is decreasing and the church loses converts about as fast as they make them.
Mormonism is NOT the fastest growing religion - the Assembly of God churches and even the JWs surpass them in growth.

Even worse, most of the converts the Mormon church makes now are in Third World countries, while they are losing the members in America who used to pay the big bucks in tithes.

Joseph Smith never foresaw the double helix or the information highway, lol.
Today, anyone with a computer can look up how the Mormon church whitewashed its history and lies about its growth.
The stone that was supposed to cover the whole earth is nothing but a freaking pebble.

154. The whole Endowment Ceremony in Mormon temples is nothing but an unholy wedding ceremony in which the member gets tied to the cult.

All the signs and tokens lead up to the member promising to give his/her life if necessary to build up Mormonism.
Not to mention, they also swear to give everything they own to the Mormon church.
So technically, it's the cult that gets endowed while the hapless member gets some nebulous promise of eternal life. What a scam.

Then members have to wear the magical underwear day and night. What the cult is basically telling them is "Your ass is ours" when they make them wear the fugly clown panties.

And then the cult demands 10% of the members' gross income while making them clean the chapel toilets on Saturday mornings. Typical cult behavior.

They do not open their books or financial records to the members like other mainstream churches. Cult income is a closely guarded secret.

RUN if you ever get approached by Mormon neighbors or missionaries. T

156. Hi Vera! Thank you so much for all the info on this cult/religion! I once was truly interested in learning more about mormonism and what it was all about only to find that there was way too much that they are not willing to divulge. It never made sense to me that any religion could carry with it the vow of secrecy! I always thought that the more you know, the more you can understand. Who do they think they are? The chosen ones, I guess. The rest of us non believers will be cast down to hell! I'm guessing that Heaven will be a pretty empty place as far as the mormons are concerned. But then again, I hear they(the men) get their own planets and are all considered to be equal to God! lol!

157. In the grand tradition of all cults, the Mormon church fleeces the flock while building grandiose monuments to itself. Neither Christ nor JS would be welcome in today's Mormon church.

There is the tabernacle which was built to the tune of several hundred millions. Now there is the mega mall which stands at a projected $2.5 BILLION dollars, and they haven't even broken ground yet.

How many poor could be fed instead? But the Mormon church only gives a bare minimum to worldwide relief, in spite of telling their members differently.

The Mormon church is also developing a luxury resort on Hawaii's North Shore. There will also be a housing development with affordable villas for - you guessed it - top church officials.

Meanwhile, many Mormon families struggle to pay their tithes and give free labor ,
on top of having too many kids because church leaders want more butts in the pews.
When these faithful families need help, they realize too late that their church won't lift a finger in their behalf. They paid into a very bad insurance company.

There is a reason why Utah tops the nation in bankruptcies and Prozac consumption - Mormonism Never Was Happiness!

159. Sadly, it's true.
Good Mormons all have to wear a special underwear with markings on it. This magical underwear is supposed to protect them but ,of course, Mormons die in various nasty ways just like everyone else.

He simply stated: there are two groups in which we as a nation need to be grateful to for their extreme help. One: the church of jesus christ of latter day saints (the official name for the "mormon" church) and two: the mormons. although he said it twice... i think that is a statement made by someone non-offiliated with the church. As a member, I see where the money goes. I am proud to say I am L.D.S. The people I attend with, and the temple I go to, prove to me that God is loving. Therefore, any hate sent on the internet just proves that whoever is spouting it cannot be speaking on behalf of the loving God I know. They should be ashamed of themselves for downing any religion, atheist, or otherwise. A true christian recognizes the freedom every human being has to chose for themselves and not put down any other.

162. Rene, what you don't get is that people are speaking out against others who they believe they are being lied to. There would be no hate against them if they would not try so hard to cover up something that is ugliness, masked in the appearance of goodness. They, mormons, should be ashamed of themselves for not being able to give clear cut answers to some simple questions. They should not act as if they are being offended when honest questions are asked and they can only avoid answering! They have the freedom to make their choices just as others have the freedom to question those choices. Honestly, I have a difficult time believing in a church that forces secrecy on its members not to mention the fact that they force them to wear some ridiculous undergarments! As if our Heavenly Father approved it! Give me a break! They should just admit to the cult like secret behavior and prove that they really believe that their actions are acceptable.

Yes, they do use the Bible. And that is just one scripture clearly stating that being acceptable to the world is not a concern. If you are going to use the Bible as a guide in your life, then use it.
